FeisClár is provided by D.Heade Development. This policy covers the app distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, our website and related services. FeisClár helps dancers, parents and teachers manage results, Feis details, grades, classes, timetables and attendance.
You can use local dancer and teacher profiles without signing up with an email address. A local profile is a record on your device. Optional teacher sync uses Firebase anonymous authentication and a private connection between participating devices.
The app stores dancer names or nicknames, birth years, schools, competition results, grades, photos, classes, enrolments, lesson schedules, registers, attendance responses, feedback and teacher notes locally. Teacher-only notes are not included in dancer lesson snapshots. The SQLite database does not use application-level database encryption; your device security and backup settings apply.
Backups, .feisclar files, CSV/TSV exports and shared images can contain personal information and are readable outside the app. Store and share them carefully. Copies in Photos, Files, Downloads, iCloud, Google backups or another person’s possession are not erased by deleting an app profile.
When you enable sync and share a connection link with a teacher, the participating devices exchange public keys and encrypt shared records using X25519 key agreement and AES-256-GCM. Private keys stay on those devices. Firebase Realtime Database carries encrypted results, grades, target Feiseanna, lesson schedules, attendance responses, published feedback and relevant studio announcements.
Each dancer receives their own lessons, enrolments and published feedback; classmates’ registers and private teacher notes are excluded. Attendance responses and any reason you enter are shared with the connected teacher. A teacher must verify the connection before sharing class records.
Connection identifiers, public keys, authentication identifiers, status and update metadata are service information, not encrypted record content. Firebase and our hosting providers also process technical network information. Sync runs when the apps connect and sync; it is not guaranteed instant delivery or a background push service.
Enabling sync and sharing the connection link is optional. Disable Sync or remove the subscription to stop sharing and request relay deletion. Offline requests retry when the app reconnects. A recipient may already have saved or exported records. See Data deletion for the steps.
Public API requests include a randomly generated installation identifier. Our services can record endpoints, response status, request times, IP addresses, user agents and syllabus downloads. We use these records to operate the service, diagnose problems, monitor usage and prevent abuse.
Labelled sponsor and affiliate links open external providers. Our redirect service can record the campaign, click time, IP address, country when available and browser information. Booking searches can pass the selected destination and Feis dates to the booking provider. We do not sell dancer records or include third-party advertising SDKs in the app.
Google Firebase provides the optional authentication and encrypted relay; hosting providers operate the website and API. These providers process service information to supply those functions. External maps, booking, entry and organiser sites have their own privacy policies. Support emails and information you choose to send are used to respond to your request.
You can refuse or revoke permissions in iOS/iPadOS Settings or Android Settings. The corresponding optional feature will be unavailable; you can continue using the remaining app features.
Local records remain until you delete them, reset the app or remove the app’s local data. Device and cloud backups and external exports may remain separately. Relay snapshots remain while a connection is active and are removed after a successful online disconnect request. We do not promise automatic expiry for inactive relay connections.
Technical logs and support records currently have no scheduled automatic deletion period. They are retained for service operation, troubleshooting, security and handling support requests. Contact us to request access or deletion of identifiable records. If a record must be retained for a legal obligation or a security investigation, we will explain the category, purpose and applicable retention requirement when responding. We do not promise a fixed deletion deadline that is not implemented.
You can request access, correction or deletion, withdraw optional sharing by ending sync, and ask about retained service records through the contact below. Instructions are available in our data deletion guide.
The app can hold information about young dancers. Parents, guardians and teachers should manage these records responsibly, obtain necessary permissions and share only with intended recipients. Local profiles do not verify age or parental consent. Avoid sensitive personal information in class-wide notices. We do not sell children’s information or use dancer records for advertising profiles. Contact us if a child’s record has been shared inappropriately.

We update this policy when our practices change and show the revision date above. Apple App Store privacy disclosures and Google Play Data safety disclosures must describe the released app’s actual behaviour; this policy does not replace those store disclosures.
